Here's Who I'm Following On Instagram...
If you’re anything like me, Instagram has become one of your leading sources of outreach and advocacy. In the food allergy community, there are so many of us sharing our stories online, hoping to make someone’s life a little bit easier. Recently, I went on a deep dive of the people who I follow on IG, and I thought it might be helpful to share some of my favorite profiles in the food allergy community:
No Dairy No Cry is a blog that focuses on dairy, egg, soy, peanut, tree nut, cashew, and beef free recipes for those looking for delicious, but safe food inspo that’s family-friendly. Laila, the mind behind the brand, is the mother to two children who are dealing with food allergies. Her mission is to provide useful information on preparing meals, as well as helpful descriptions of the types of products she uses.
The Allergy Chef is a resource blog for people with food allergies and intolerances. It offers advice on things like how to cook tasty gluten-free pasta, suggestions on the different types of gluten-free flour, and ways to make zucchini more enjoyable and tasty. On the blog, RAISE, there are recipes, educational articles, and roundtable discussions. Their site search engine is massive and allows you to mix and match search criteria for over 50 diet types. If you want access to their membership benefits, there are tiered pricing levels available.
As you all know, I have a major sweet tooth. Allergylicious satisfies just that! This blog provides vegan and allergy-friendly dessert recipes. One of my favorite elements about the blog is that there is a section called “Speciality Diet.” Here you can select your dietary needs (nut-free, soy-free, sugar-free, etc.), and it provides a list of applicable recipes.
Zane is an 11-year-old chef who was diagnosed with multiple food allergies at six weeks old. He has made it his mission to empower other kids like him as they navigate their own food allergy journey. His blog, Zane’s Teal Kitchen, focuses on delicious, traditional recipes that are safe and enjoyable. He also has some really cute merchandise on his website!
