“Bless this highly nutritious microwavable macaroni & cheese dinner and the people who sold it on sale. Amen.” - Kevin McCallister, Home Alone image

Ok, I don’t microwave my mac & cheese, but you get the point. Secretly, I just love an excuse for a movie reference. But just like Kevin McCallister, I love mac & cheese for dinner. Yep, mac & cheese all by itself.

For the holidays and big family gatherings, I love mac & cheese casserole made from scratch with its layers and layers of cheese. But for everyday dining, my choice has always been Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, so you can imagine how disappointed I was when I found out that it contains citric acid. I needed an alternative that was just as satisfying, so I searched the grocery store shelves and soon discovered another Kraft product — Cracker Barrel Macaroni & Cheese. I tried the Cracker Barrel Sharp Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese, but they also offer Sharp White Cheddar, Cheddar Havarti, and Sharp Cheddar & Bacon. This tasty product costs about $4 in my local grocery store and about $3 in Walmart and Target. It has easily gone to the top of my list for easy-prep meals. All you do is cook your noodles, drain them, and mix in the cheese sauce — no milk is necessary. Give it a try!
